Today was a beautiful day. The air was crisp, and the trees are finally changing colors. I just love fall. Plus, tonight my club won our A-team championship football game. It was amazing. I've been playing club football for four years now and every year we make it to the championship game, and every year we lose. But this year, myself and one other girl were the fifth years on the team so we were determined to win, and we did. It was so sweet. I typically play cornerback, in fact it's the only position I fully know how to play, but we had some injuries so I had to play defensive line and wide receiver. It was crazy, but so much fun especially when I actually grabbed one of the other team's flags.
After the game, I had to go back to the "Petit Jean" office since we were in the middle of our second deadline. I love deadline nights. For most, it's thought of as being crazy and stressful and hectic, but to me it's gratifying. It means that one more part of the yearbook is done, and we're that much closer to being finished. I love seeing my staff so focused and working. They're determined, wanting to learn and wanting to do the best job they can. Sometimes, I wish it was like that all the time. Don't get me wrong, I love my staff. They're funny and sweet, and I'm so glad I get to work with them, but on Tuesday nights, when everyone is up in the office, not as much work gets done. Oh well, at least one more deadline is out of the way. I'm so excited about this book and cannot wait to see it published. It's the most amazing feeling holding the finished book in my hands. April can only come too soon.
